{"id":825,"date":"2013-07-25T15:11:05","date_gmt":"2013-07-25T15:11:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/?p=825"},"modified":"2013-07-25T20:43:47","modified_gmt":"2013-07-25T20:43:47","slug":"week-7","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/week-7\/","title":{"rendered":"Week 7."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have been spending almost every Saturday at the Waterfall Glen Trail, my legs feel dead almost always and my appetite is that of a 300 pound man.\u00a0 Yup, I am deep into marathon training.\u00a0 Almost 7 weeks down and roughly 9 more to go.\u00a0 Seems like I still have a long way, but I know these next two months are going to fly and it makes me nervous.\u00a0 I still have many kinks to figure out and work to do to get to where I need to be.\u00a0 But I know I can do this.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/Picture-162.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-826 aligncenter\" alt=\"Picture 162\" src=\"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/Picture-162.jpg\" width=\"394\" height=\"394\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/Picture-162.jpg 1440w, http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/Picture-162-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/Picture-162-300x300.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/Picture-162-1024x1024.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 394px) 100vw, 394px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>My current workout schedule is as follow:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Mondays:<\/strong>\u00a0 AM Crossfit<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tuesdays:\u00a0<\/strong> AM 6-8 miles\/ PM Crossfit<\/li>\n<li><strong>Wednesdays:\u00a0<\/strong> AM Crossfit\/PM 5-7 mile Track workout<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thursdays:<\/strong>\u00a0 AM 6-8 miles<\/li>\n<li><strong>Friday:<\/strong> AM Crossfit<\/li>\n<li><strong>Saturday<\/strong>:\u00a0 Long run<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sunday<\/strong>: Off or hot yoga<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For my Tuesday\/Thursday run I do not keep a set pace but I do for my track workouts and long runs. \u00a0 My long runs are not exactly where I need to be just yet, but I am still feeling pretty good.\u00a0 My biggest thing is I am still consistent with my crossfit workouts, even if it means my legs are dead for a long run.\u00a0 This might make for tough training runs, but when I am prepping for a race day and have a rest week beforehand, it makes my legs feel superhuman and light because I am so used to running when they are heavy. \u00a0 The slowest average pace I have kept on a long run is 8:30 and the fastest average pace has been 7:30.\u00a0 So for race day, I need to be somewhere in the middle of that.\u00a0 Boston qualifying pace is an 8:15 average, but I am aiming for 745\/8 to be safe.<\/p>\n<p>My biggest concern right now is how long it takes me to settle into my pace. My running style is a little odd, I\u00a0 like to start off pretty slow (about 2 minutes slower than race pace) and then work my way up.\u00a0 While this has worked for me in the past, I am just nervous that I am going to lose too much time on the front end of my marathon getting myself &#8220;warmed up&#8221;.\u00a0 So, we shall see. \u00a0 I have a half marathon coming up in a few weeks and then a 20 mile race in September, so these will be two big trials to work all this out and see where I am.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/quote1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-828 aligncenter\" alt=\"quote\" src=\"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/quote1.jpg\" width=\"308\" height=\"305\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/quote1.jpg 308w, http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/quote1-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/quote1-300x297.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 308px) 100vw, 308px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Every time I visualize crossing that finish line in a Boston qualifying time, I tear up.\u00a0 It would be a dream come true, something I never thought in a million years I could accomplish.\u00a0 I also never thought I would be capable of running a half marathon in the 1:40&#8217;s or a 5k in 20:20, and I did. \u00a0 Me?
