{"id":1435,"date":"2014-07-10T13:39:58","date_gmt":"2014-07-10T13:39:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/?p=1435"},"modified":"2014-07-10T14:06:38","modified_gmt":"2014-07-10T14:06:38","slug":"resolution-check-in","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/resolution-check-in\/","title":{"rendered":"Resolution check-in"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Man, the week after the fourth of July holiday is ROUGH,\u00a0 eh?\u00a0 I hope you all had as much fun this past weekend as I did, it has always been one of my most favorite holidays for many reasons.\u00a0 It does not involve spending money on gifts- it just involves being outside, eating good food and hanging out with people you love.\u00a0 We definitely did all of that.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/2014-pics-300.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1446 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/2014-pics-300.jpg\" alt=\"2014 pics 300\" width=\"342\" height=\"342\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/2014-pics-300.jpg 612w, http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/2014-pics-300-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/2014-pics-300-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 342px) 100vw, 342px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I got to do a workout with an old friend who I have not seen in forever, Shain and I spent hours at the pool, I had a successful long run that didn&#8217;t feel like death, we grilled out, took a canoeing trip, hit up a flea market and ended the weekend with some awesome music.\u00a0 Success.\u00a0 Yay, America!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/2014-pics-302.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1443 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/2014-pics-302.jpg\" alt=\"2014 pics 302\" width=\"389\" height=\"389\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/2014-pics-302.jpg 1936w, http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/2014-pics-302-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/2014-pics-302-300x300.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/2014-pics-302-1024x1024.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 389px) 100vw, 389px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It is usually at this point in the year I also start to reflect a little bit on how my resolutions\/goals are going.\u00a0 What? You have given up on your resolutions already?!\u00a0 Never fear, it is not too late!\u00a0 Don&#8217;t let yourself fall into the majority who don&#8217;t make it. You still have time to conquer your 2014 goals.\u00a0 Not to mention, who says you can&#8217;t make some more goals while you are at it or maybe tweak your current ones.\u00a0 No better time to start than now.\u00a0\u00a0 This year I set some pretty straightforward and simple goals for myself, here is the progress on some of them:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Avoid talking negative at all costs about anybody\/any situation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I had no idea when I made this goal, how challenging of a year this would be, so this was incredibly appropriate to keep me in check.\u00a0 I of course am not going through anything traumatic or terrible other than your every day stupid stress- I realize how blessed I am in my own mess (see what I did there?)- but I have had a hard time staying on track these past months with this specific goal.\u00a0 I would be lying to you if I said I have been doing a good job not getting caught up in negative BS.\u00a0 It literally has felt like it is EVERYWHERE lately.\u00a0 No excuses though, I must get back on my positive train and not fall into the negative banter in my head or amongst others.\u00a0 <strong>In order to create positivity and change in others, you have to be it and BREATHE IT.\u00a0 Bottom line.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/positivity.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1450 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/positivity.jpg\" alt=\"positivity\" width=\"397\" height=\"283\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/positivity.jpg 680w, http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/positivity-300x213.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 397px) 100vw, 397px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Don&#8217;t buy anything new- secondhand stores only:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Okay, so I have to admit.\u00a0 This goal has NOT been hard, it has been downright FUN.\u00a0 I have cheated on this twice, once for a workout tank and the other with some gift cards I had while we were on our honeymoon- but in my mind gift cards don&#8217;t count since I am not using my money right?!\u00a0 Other than that, I have not really had the desire to buy anything brand new and to be honest, I am not sure I ever will again.\u00a0 I have been striking GOLD at Goodwill\/Clothes Mentor\/Platos Closet.\u00a0 Just the other day,\u00a0 I brought in a bunch of clothes to donate to Clothes Mentor and I used the money I got back in the store on these bad boys below- Tory Burch Flats.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/2014-pics-303.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1444 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/2014-pics-303.jpg\" alt=\"2014 pics 303\" width=\"311\" height=\"232\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/2014-pics-303.jpg 2592w, http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/2014-pics-303-300x224.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/2014-pics-303-1024x764.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 311px) 100vw, 311px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>THEY WERE FIFTEEN DOLLARS.\u00a0 What the WHAT?!
