{"id":1366,"date":"2014-04-10T00:50:44","date_gmt":"2014-04-10T00:50:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/?p=1366"},"modified":"2014-04-10T00:58:44","modified_gmt":"2014-04-10T00:58:44","slug":"nothing-new-challenge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/nothing-new-challenge\/","title":{"rendered":"Nothing new challenge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So, remember that resolution I told you about way back when?\u00a0 How my goal was to not buy ANY new clothes new all year?\u00a0 Well, I have a confession.\u00a0 I broke down and made a purchase.\u00a0 I am about to justify it to make myself feel better, are you ready?<\/p>\n<p>My gym just got a whole bunch of new apparel in, workout tanks, hoodies, t-shirts etc.\u00a0 Despite my love for working out, I honestly do not purchase too much in this category very often.\u00a0 I tend to spend good money on some Nike or Under Armour running hoodies, Lululemon pants and general workout gear only every 3-5 years.\u00a0 Quality is important for this kind of stuff, but it gets expensive.\u00a0 Even when I try to be cool and\u00a0 buy a matching outfit, it ends up sitting in my closet untouched because I almost always default to the same workout clothes I have been wearing since high school, which I should mention never match.\u00a0 I like what I like okay?\u00a0 One of my workout buddies said to me recently &#8230;.&#8221;Jill- you kind of have a Punky Brewster thing going on huh?&#8221;. \u00a0\u00a0 Heck yes I take that as a compliment.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/punky.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1367 aligncenter\" alt=\"Punky Brewster\" src=\"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/punky.jpg\" width=\"350\" height=\"239\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/punky.jpg 1536w, http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/punky-300x204.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/punky-1024x697.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/> <\/a><\/p>\n<p>ANYWAYS, where was I?\u00a0 Oh yea, so I gave in and I bought\u00a0 Crossfit Oswego tank top. UGH.\u00a0 I feel so wrong.\u00a0 But how could I turn down a LIME GREEN burnout tank that has my gym in which I love plastered all over it?\u00a0 Besides, everybody who is competing at the end of this month will be wearing CFO gear&#8230;so I couldn&#8217;t be left out right??\u00a0\u00a0 I promise, no more exceptions.<\/p>\n<p>However, this does lead me to tell you how much awesome stuff I have been finding at Goodwill.\u00a0 This &#8220;nothing new&#8221; challenge is a lot more fun than I thought it would be.\u00a0 I have been going there more often to pick up vases and things for the wedding and happen to stumble upon some awesome finds.<\/p>\n<p>My favorite finds so far are these black capri pants from White House Black Market and leopard wedges from Target.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/2013-Cont.-249.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1368 aligncenter\" alt=\"2013 Cont. 249\" src=\"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/2013-Cont.-249.jpg\" width=\"331\" height=\"246\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/2013-Cont.-249.jpg 2592w, http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/2013-Cont.-249-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 331px) 100vw, 331px\" \/><\/a>I have also found a bunch of good dresses from GAP and BCBG\u00a0 that I can wear to work or to some up coming events this summer.\u00a0 I am telling you people, stop paying full price and check out your local Goodwill.\u00a0 It&#8217;s like a treasure hunt, except instead of gold you find a brand- new- tags -still- on-dress-from an- otherwise- expensive -store. \u00a0 This year I have purchased maybe 10-15 items of clothing\/shoes and spend no more than $40.\u00a0 BOOM.<\/p>\n<p>But, I have to admit it is turning into a problem.\u00a0 One of the reasons I wanted to do this challenge is because I do not need clothes, but if I happened to &#8220;need&#8221; something there is no reason I can&#8217;t find it at a thrift store for a fraction of the price.\u00a0 But the frequent trips are getting a little out of control, so no more of that nonsense for a while.<\/p>\n<p>Hope you are all having a great week so far, enjoy the weather!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So, remember that resolution I told you about way back when?\u00a0 How my goal was to not buy ANY new clothes new all year?\u00a0 Well, I have a confession.\u00a0 I broke down and made a purchase.\u00a0 I am about to justify it to make myself feel better, are you ready?
