Victory."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Every morning my alarm goes off at 4:40am.\u00a0\u00a0 I putz around the house, sometimes do some journaling, drink a cup of coffee, have a light breakfast and head to the gym.\u00a0 Sometimes when that alarm goes off, I bound out of bed ready to conquer the world.\u00a0 Other times,\u00a0 I hate everything and all I want to do is stay under the warm covers.\u00a0 But I know the consequences of hitting that snooze button.\u00a0 It&#8217;s not about missing the workout and then feeling like I can&#8217;t fit into my jeans, it is so much more than that.\u00a0 When I complete my morning ritual, I feel better, I feel energized, I feel positive&#8230;I feel in control of my life.\u00a0 It is my personal victory.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.blessedinthemess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/2013-Cont.-208.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1242 aligncenter\" alt=\"2013 Cont. 208\" <em>7 Habits of Highly Effective People,<\/em> by Stephen Covey, is familiar with this term.\u00a0 What is a personal victory?\u00a0 It is something that you do for YOU. \u00a0 A ritual of how you start your day, or maybe how you end it.\u00a0 Maybe it is spending an hour in prayer.\u00a0 Maybe it is going to the Yoga studio.\u00a0 Going on a morning walk.\u00a0 Writing in your journal.\u00a0 Anything that makes you feel rejuvenated.\u00a0 That is your private victory.\u00a0 Why are these so important?\u00a0 <strong>Because they are the ONLY path to public victories.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a deal you just made at work.\u00a0\u00a0 An interview you just nailed.\u00a0 The feeling of having all of your chores and tasks accomplished around the house.\u00a0\u00a0 Being able to be the best friend you can be, the best spouse&#8230;the best parent.\u00a0 Public victories are what others see of you and benefit from as well.<\/p>\n<p>Have you ever had a point in your life where everything was just flowing?\u00a0 You felt like everything was going as it should?\u00a0 During these moments you were probably spending time accomplishing your private victories.\u00a0 For many people, this simply means taking better care of your health.\u00a0\u00a0 This is always a good start.\u00a0 When you ignore habits that are so important to your mind, body and spirit&#8230;it might feel like everything is falling apart.<\/p>\n<p>When I miss my morning workouts, stray away from clean eating or don&#8217;t take time to pray and reflect.\u00a0 I feel crabby and un-motivated.\u00a0 This is also when things tend to go wrong.\u00a0 I forget to make an important phone call or I mess up a presentation.\u00a0 This then translates into my work and my relationships.\u00a0 I am a better person when I stick to my rituals.\u00a0 FACT.<\/p>\n<p>What are some rituals you have been neglecting?\u00a0 Get back to those, you will be amazed at how it impacts all other areas of your life.<\/p>\n<p
